CWA
The Country Women's Association (CWA) formed after World War I to address
the needs of rural women.
It established several holiday homes in coastal communities. Initially,
these homes only accommodated women and children and did not admit men.
The Avoca Beach Branch of the CWA initially supported enlargement of the
Avoca Beach children's pool, but later withdrew its support.
