Kiama was one of the earlier coastal municipalities in New South Wales,
Australia.
The Kiama local government area lies in the Illawarra region and now
encompasses coastal areas once administered by the municipality of
Gerringong. The neighbouring local government areas are Shellharbour to the
north and Shoalhaven to the south.
