Wollongong City Council

Wollongong was one of the early coastal municipalities created in nineteenth-century New South Wales. The Wollongong local government area now encompasses coastal areas once administered by Bulli Shire, Northern Illawarra Shire and Central Illawarra Shire. The neighbouring local government area to the south is Shellharbour. The Royal National Park lies to the north.
